Sagarmatha Next is the first project of Himalayan Museum and Sustainable Park (HMSP), a profit non-distributing company that promotes sustainable trekking and tourism in the Himalayan region, by creating a sustainable ecosystem that promotes conscious consumption, best practices, education, and awareness on the environmental and social challenges.

 

Located in Syangboche near Namche Bazar, en route to the Everest Base Camp, Sagarmatha Next aims to change the perception around waste and provide support to the local stakeholders of the region, by bringing innovative and sustainable solutions for solid waste management in the Khumbu region.

By highlighting art and innovation and offering a Waste Lab where local and international artists can transform waste into artwork and design products, Sagarmatha Next strives to for waste. Besides, it offers a space to the locals and visitors in the area to learn about the mountains, environment, local culture, socio-cultural challenges, and waste management in the region.
