As tourism is recovering in the Everest region following the COVID-19 pandemic after two years, we have restarted the carry me back program in spring 2022, sponsored by Dell Technologies.

 

Plastic PET bottles and aluminium cans were shredded and packed in the 'carry me back' bags. Participants could pick up the bags at the pick point located by the Police Check Point at Namche Bazaar and drop the off at Lukla Gate or Lukla Airport. 

 

Thanks to the efforts of 750 participants, we could remove 1,300 kg of waste from Sagarmatha National Park.
